Christmastime in the Cotswolds

Anna here, founder of Folk.

Over the holidays, I took a trip to England to visit our textile mill in Bristol. Its run by the most fabulous group of female weavers. We spent an entire day working on the details of our spring patterns. It was absolutely enriching to see the process and understand the technicalities at a deeper level. Our blankets are a double weave structure, meaning its really two pieces of fabric woven together. It creates the perfect weight for our bedspreads, but can affect the patterns we make, so you really have to get creative.

Here's a little sneak peek of what we are working on for spring! So excited to introduce a darker background in our blankets. I was wildly inspired by the yarn colors they have in their studio.

After this, I met up with my second cousin Nancy, who lives outside of London. Luckily she had a car, so we scurried up to the Cotswolds for some countryside R&R. This place is heaven on Earth. We spent our days antiquing, visiting farm shops, drinking wine, playing cards, reading the paper, and eating good food...like this seriously unforgettable fish pie. Overall it was the perfect trip of work, rest and play.
